Otters Nursery School

​Otters Nursery School in Cliddesden provides high-quality full-day care for children aged 0–4 years, open Monday to Friday, 8 am–6 pm for 51 weeks of the year. Our recent Ofsted (2025) rated our setting 'Good' and recognised the strong support for children’s learning, development and personal growth in a nurturing and stimulating environment.

Daily life at Otters is active, joyful and tailored around play-based learning that follows each child’s interests. Children enjoy a wide range of sensory experiences — from water and natural materials play to exploratory activities that encourage creativity, curiosity and hands-on discovery. The indoor spaces are thoughtfully arranged to offer open-ended play that supports confidence and independence, allowing children to take the lead in their own learning.

Outdoors, little learners climb, balance and explore on age-appropriate equipment and in nature-rich gardens that invite digging, building dens and investigating the natural world; reflecting Otters’ strong belief in the power of play to spark learning. You’ll also see the children involved in creative projects, festive decorations and group activities that support social skills, communication and self-expression.

Otters is a warm community where children form strong attachments with caring staff who celebrate each child’s progress — whether mastering a new physical skill, engaging in imaginative play, or proudly sharing their work with others. Regular updates and photos shared with families help strengthen connections between home and nursery life, giving parents a window into their child’s day and the wonderful variety of experiences that make up each week at Otters.​​​
